Extension Activities
Introduction
Extension is the backbone of knowledge dissemination in agriculture. At Shri Siddhagiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kaneri, Kolhapur, extension activities serve as a vital link between research institutions and the farming community. Our goal is to promote the adoption of scientific, sustainable, and profitable agricultural practices through continuous interaction, awareness, and capacity building of farmers and stakeholders. We use a multi-channel approach to reach farmers in even the most remote parts of Kolhapur district, helping them solve location-specific problems and make informed decisions.
Objectives of Extension Activities
To create awareness about improved agricultural technologies.
To disseminate region-specific best practices in agriculture and allied sectors.
To provide timely technical guidance and problem-solving support.
To strengthen farmer–scientist interactions and participatory learning.
To facilitate convergence with government schemes, NGOs, SHGs, and FPOs.
