Introduction
Timely and accurate technical advice plays a crucial role in solving day-to-day problems faced by farmers. At Shri Siddhagiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kaneri, Kolhapur, we provide need-based, location-specific, and research-backed advisory services to the farming community of Kolhapur district. Our aim is to support informed decision-making for improved productivity, profitability, and sustainability in agriculture and allied sectors.We offer advisory services through multiple channels including direct consultation, phone calls, mobile apps, field visits, and mass media to ensure that farmers have access to expert guidance when they need it most.

Modes of Advisory Delivery
1. Walk-in Advisory Services
Farmers can visit our KVK campus during working hours to meet Subject Matter Specialists (SMS) for personalized consultations regarding:
Crop management and protection
Livestock health and feeding
Soil fertility and input recommendations
Farm mechanization and resource conservation
2. Telephonic Advisory
Farmers can directly call our experts for quick guidance. This is especially useful during crop emergencies, pest/disease outbreaks, or unpredictable weather events.
3. Mobile-Based Agro-Advisories (SMS / Kisan Sarathi Portal / WhatsApp)
We disseminate timely agro-advisories to registered farmers via:
SMS alerts in Marathi language for weather-based recommendations
WhatsApp groups managed by KVK staff for area-specific advisories
Kisan Sarathi Portal advisories under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
4. On-Farm Diagnostic Visits
Our technical team visits farmers’ fields for:
Diagnosis of pest/disease/nutrient issues
Recommendations on corrective measures

5. Expert Interaction Programs
